The first step in ensuring that satisfaction is producing our filters in ISO certified facilities. ISO stands for The International Organization for Standardization and this ISO certification ensures that our factory meets standardized ISO requirements during the production of our products. One of our requirements is that our factories operate under a control plan and flow chart. These written documents ensure that our products are manufactured, controlled and quality assured to our drawings and documented specifications. They also ensure that our products are quality controlled at various stages of manufacturing and that the process is documented properly. Once the product is completed one final check of the critical dimensional measurements is taken, recorded, and logged into our Quality Assurance program.
One other way we guarantee the quality of our products is to test them at an independent testing facility. This facility specializes in the detection and analysis of particulate contamination and verification of filtration performance. The testing facility is located in Michigan near the big three automakers and we picked this testing facility because of their automotive expertise. The test facility is certified and accredited by The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation. This accreditation not only verifies the testing facilities competence but also ensures they are in compliance with ISO/IEC Guide 17025 for good laboratory practice. They test our filters to the methods and standards set by ISO and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). We test our filters for Fractional Efficiency, Capacity and Final Flow Restriction. These three qualities are the most important to test for to ensure the quality of a filter. Our cabin filters are tested with a special contaminant that is certified by ISO and is especially made for testing cabin filters. This contaminant is made up of particles that range in size from 0.3 microns to greater than 10 microns. To give you an example, a particle the size of 10 microns is not visible to the naked eye. Pollen ranges in the size from about 5 to 100 microns and mold ranges from 2 to 20 microns. Using this special ISO certified cabin filter contaminant during testing is an important step to make certain that our products are of the best quality and are filtering out these types of unwanted contaminants before they enter your vehicle.
In addition to the manufacturing and testing of our products we also take the extra critical step to do fit tests to make certain that the products we sell fit properly in the vehicles they are made for. This is where we really separate ourselves from our competition. In general we produce a filter that is made to the construction of the original equipment filter but we have found in some cases that an adjustment to the construction would make for a better fit or ease of installation and in these cases we have made those improvements to the filters we manufacture. Without doing this critical step we would have never found these types of design flaws in the original equipment design.
